My Top 5 picks from the Paris Révélations Craft Fair.
Looking beyond the Needle and finding inspiration!
Dear embroidery and textile friends,
What a magical few weeks it’s been! First, the Révélations Craft Fair in Paris—an incredible whirlwind of creation and collaboration alongside Maison Hurel and four remarkable partners.
Then, home to Corsica for something a little more personal... my 40th birthday! 🎂 Surrounded by dear friends who flew in from all corners of the world, I felt full to the brim with gratitude, joy, and—let’s be honest—just a touch of exhaustion.
So I paused. Took a few quiet days to rest, recharge, walk barefoot in the sand with sweet Pastis (my faithful little Norwich terrier), and just breathe in the salty Corsican air.

But oh, the inspiration I soaked up at Révélations! Even though my heart beats strongest for embroidery and textiles, I snuck away from our booth a few times to wander under theglass dome of the Grand Palais. I let myself get lost in the world of materials—glass, clay, paper, leather—and returned with a notebook bursting with ideas. And now, I want to share some of that wonder with you.
Here are 5 extraordinary artists whose work took my breath away—and just might spark your creative soul, too. ✨
1. Laura Cambon (France) – Flexible Glass Structures
Imagine glass not as something stiff and fragile—but soft, flowing, and almost textile-like. That’s the magic Laura Cambon brings to life. She crafts modular mesh panels where glass meets metal in a delicate dance of light and movement. Her work reminds me of embroidery with sequins—only on an architectural scale!

🧵 Inspiration: Transparent poetry and structured delicacy.
2. Silver Sentimenti (France) – Clay Meets Leather
Silver’s pieces are pure alchemy: earthy ceramics pierced, woven, and embraced by strips of waxed leather. His journey—from couture ateliers to hand-sculpted stoneware—is a story of blending craft and emotion. I was mesmerized by the sensual textures and the dialogue between hard and soft, matte and shine.

🧵 Inspiration: Push the limits. Marry unexpected materials. Let your hands lead.
3. Paul Guidera (Montreal) – Joyful Ceramics
Every morning at the fair, I walked past Paul’s whimsical ceramic pieces—and couldn’t help but smile. There’s something so warm, so cheeky and comforting in his shapes and glazes. It’s the kind of work that reminds us not everything has to be serious to be meaningful.

🧵 Inspiration: Embrace playfulness. Let art brighten your everyday.
4. Anne Féat-Gaiss (France) – Golden Paper Landscapes
If you know me, you know I love a golden surface—and Anne’s booth was a glimmering oasis. She transforms paper with copper foil, delicate incisions, and layered textures into luminous, mythic landscapes. Her background in archaeology and ancient art infuses every piece with mystery and depth.

🧵 Inspiration: Trace stories into surfaces. Let your history shine through.
5. Irma Poma Canchumani (Peru) – Mate Burilado Magic
Sometimes, the universe sends you a gift in the most unexpected place. I met Irma—an extraordinary artist and activist—in the Grand Palais restroom of all places! Her engraved calabash gourds are like visual spirals of storytelling—capturing Andean traditions, celebrations, and the rhythms of life. Look at all those mini mini details hand drawned and carved on the calabash! Her work feels alive, sacred, and timeless.

🧵 Inspiration: Honor your heritage. Let your hands preserve memory.
Wherever you are, I hope these stories stir something in you—whether it’s the urge to pick up a needle and thread, sketch a new idea, or simply look around with fresh eyes.
Until next time, I’m sending you a warm hug from Corsica—and a sprinkle of gold dust from the Grand Palais. 💛
With love and stitches,
Nadia & little Pastis 🐾
