For the last 2 years, I've been lucky enough to divide my time between Paris and Florence, specially in the fall. And I have met so many wonderful and fascinating Italian friends, a lot of them working in the textile field. I have decided to visit them in the South. And I’m taking YOU with me: check out the tour I just added to my schedule this summer!

Italy is always a good idea and it’s often on everyone’s wish list for the summer holidays, but this tour is a bit different from the rest.
Get ready to explore Calabria—the sun-soaked toe of Italy’s boot—on an exclusive 7-day Stitching Adventure from June 20-26, 2025. Designed for people who cherish fabrics, nature, needlecraft, as well as authentic Italian culture, this unforgettable trip offers an intimate dive into Calabria’s rich textile heritage, art, and of course it’s delicious cuisine. I will be guiding you through this journey which blends hands-on workshops, artisan visits, cultural and material exploration.



A few of the things we will be doing:
· Fly from Rome to Lamezia Terme, capital of Calabria.
· Weaving tradition: be amazed during guided tours of two of the oldest weaving factories working with amazing natural fibers in the region
· Silk Renaissance in San Floro: Visit Calabria’s last working silkworm farm. Spend a morning learning all about silk thread and exploring their enchanting orchard, home to 300 mulberry trees.
· Try your hand at silk thread making with a wonderful team of young entrepreneurs
· Natural Dyeing Workshop: Explore and create vibrant colors and patterns on yarn and textiles using natural products and in a beautiful surrounding nature of olive trees and Mediterranean lush



· Visit the UNESCO Memory of the world- registered Codex Purpureus: a 6th-century illuminated manuscript written following the reconquest of the Italian peninsula by the Byzantine Empire: one of the oldest manuscripts ever!
· Byzantine Embroidery Inspiration: Craft intricate designs inspired by Calabria’s Byzantine rich heritage and beauty using the yarns we have died as well as many other beautiful materials brought from Paris and Florence by yours trully.
· Historic Longobucco Weaving: Explore this iconic textile tradition, its gorgeous geometric patterns and its impact in today’s Italian fashion
· Immersive Cultural Experiences: Enjoy guided tours of ancient towns, artisan villages, textile museums and breathtaking landscapes in one of the less known Italian regions: so many treasures are waiting to be discovered!
Indulge in farm-to-table meals, stay in charming historic residences, and connect with like-minded individuals passionate about textiles and travel. Imagine waking up among hundreds of olive trees in a 18th century mansion with luxurious modern amenities while maintaining the aesthetic of a bygone way of life.

When: June 20 – June 26, 2025
Where: We will be flying all together from Rome to Lamezia Terme, capital of Calabria. We will be based in Maida for 3 nights in a lovely 4-stars agriturismo and and 3 nights in Rossano in a gorgeous 18th century historic farmhouse, staying in your own private rooms each night. We will fly back to Rome on our last day.
Who: The tour is limited to 10 guests to ensure an intimate and enriching experience where everyone can learn from me and the other tutors at the right pace.
What: The tour is six nights and seven very full days, with road trips in our private 16-seat bus. But don’t worry, you will also have some downtime in Rossano to chill at our beautiful hotel with pool and gardens and/or explore the area on your own.

Need your embroidery and travel fix a bit sooner than June 2025? No worries, I still have a handful of spots left on the India tour:
· February 25th to March 6th 2025: 10 days Stitching Adventure in India, we will be visiting and working with amazing embroidery artisans in Mumbai, Jaipur and Kolkata
